Build the Ophthalmology Service You’ve Always Wanted
Violet Crown Veterinary Specialists (VCVS) is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary ophthalmologist to establish and lead a new Ophthalmology service within Austin’s only privately owned specialty and emergency hospital.
This opportunity is designed for an ophthalmologist who wants more than simply inheriting a schedule. We are looking for a clinician who values clinical autonomy, thoughtful medicine, collaboration, and the opportunity to build a service that reflects how they practice.
If you’ve ever thought, “If I could build an Ophthalmology service my way, this is how I would do it,” we’d love to connect.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most ophthalmology positions fall into one of two categories:
Walking into an established service with little flexibility or influence
Joining a large corporate system where major decisions are made far from the exam room
VCVS offers something different. We are proud to be Austin’s only privately owned specialty and emergency hospital. Our doctors work alongside the decision-makers and have meaningful influence over how services are developed, supported, and grown.
As our Ophthalmologist, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Establish and lead a new Ophthalmology service
Influence workflow and service development
Participate in equipment selection
Develop referral relationships throughout Central Texas
Train your technicians to help run the service how you envision
Help guide future investments in ophthalmology resources
Grow a service within one of the fastest-growing veterinary referral markets in Texas
Your voice matters here.
