Virtual Nephrologist

Must be licensed in one of the following states: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee

Full Time Opening working Monday through Friday with day time hours

About the company:

They deliver access to renal care for patients with kidney disease where it previously did not exist. The company is dedicated to improving the well-being, quality of life and health outcomes for patients. They support patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and End Stage Renal Disease by forming deep rooted relationships and preparing them both emotionally and physically for the challenges of managing kidney disease.  The company uses next generation artificial intelligence algorithms to predict necessary and timely care to promote the delay of kidney disease progression and seamless transitions to palliative care, dialysis and/or pre-emptive kidney transplant. Through their innovative care model, they use in-home nurse visits and telemedicine to build meaningful relationships with patients that drive positive behavior change and optimize our patients’ health outcomes.

About the position:

We are seeking full-time nephrologists to join the team due to rapid nationwide opportunities to treat members with CKD and ESRD.  Treatment and oversight will occur primarily through telehealth and the position can be primarily performed on a remote basis.  This is 100% nephrology, with the ability to connect with CKD and ESRD patients needing urgent care and engagement with patients who are seeing a nephrologist for the first time.  This is an opportunity to practice nephrology in a forward-looking, evidence-based environment with ample growth opportunity, alongside nephrologist committed to raising renal care outcomes nationwide.

As a quality driven Nephrologist you will apply your clinical expertise in managed care in a population health context. By practicing at the Virtual Clinic,  you will serve patients across the country through a national telehealth platform. You will also engage in population health management in a sophisticated, outcomes-driven manner that promotes palliative care where clinically appropriate and focuses on patient education, autonomy and quality of life. You will share a passion for raising quality outcomes for health plan members suffering from kidney disease and practice in a way that promotes patient engagement. In the case of kidney failure, the focus is informed patient choice, permanent vascular access and planned dialysis starts where clinically appropriate, and close medical management of non-dialysis patients where dialysis is not the clinically appropriate choice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Forward-looking provider who embraces the trends toward telehealth and value-based care that rewards outcomes, rather than utilization.
  • Has experience in geriatrics and end-of-life issues, advocating for conservative care where appropriate and where evidence-based criteria show that dialysis will not by comparison necessarily extend duration of life or increase quality of life.
  • Excited about working remotely from home
  • Willing to get licensed in multiple states to provide innovative care nationally
  • Current state medical license without restrictions to practice and free of sanctions from Medicaid or Medicare.

We look forward to discussing this exciting opportunity with you!
