About the College

The Australasian College of Paramedicine (the College) is the peak professional association for paramedics in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College represents and supports over 10,000 paramedics and student paramedics. The College champions the role of paramedics in emergency, primary, and palliative care, and we are committed to enhancing patient-centred care for the community. 

About the role

After an organisational review the College brought together the membership and events team to create the Member Services team, with a focus on quality member services and engagement activities, combined with conferences and events. The College is looking for a Member Services and Events Manager to take on this newly created role, to enhance our member (and non-member) engagement.

This is a great opportunity for a member / customer services expert to make this role their own, working with our existing membership and events staff to deliver a range of programs, services and events for members, assisting members in their careers and professional life.

The role is part of the Operations team and will work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communication team and the Education team.

The role requires both customer / member services experience with events and conference experience, ideally in the not-for-profit / member association space. 

Role detail

  • This is a full-time role.
  • ACP has a remote-based workforce, meaning the Member Services and Events Manager will work from their own home office.
  • Our preference is for the role to be based in a capital city across Australia or New Zealand, but other locations will be considered.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement membership growth initiatives, engagement and retention strategies with the Marketing and Communication team, and grow membership engagement and member numbers across all jurisdictions.
  • Oversee the delivery of quality conferences, events and podcasts, including managing conference and event budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communication team to ensure the effective marketing and promotion of events and member services activities.
  • Manage the development of new member content, member programs and other identified member objectives.
  • Effectively manage, mentor and support 4 staff and oversee call centre contractor.
  • Support the operations team with advice and best practice in relation to events and membership.

Selection criteria

Essential:

  1. Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in program / event delivery and customer service, preferably in a membership or not-for-profit organisation
  2. Minimum 3 years’ experience successfully leading a team (ideally employees and contractors)
  3. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of member / customer services and activities
  4. Proven ability to multi-task across several projects simultaneously;
  5. Demonstrated high level customer service and administrative skills;
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  7. Self-motivated, pro-active and results orientated.

Desirable:

  1. Tertiary qualification in business or other relevant field;
  2. Experience managing a remote team;
  3. Experience working with volunteers and/or in a Not for Profit membership environment.
